About us
Middle East Market began in 1974 as one of Northern California’s pioneering Persian markets. For Hossein, a longtime customer after immigrating from Iran, it became the foundation of a dream he would one day share with his son, Amir — to create a place centered on authentic food, culture, and community.
In 2015, that dream became reality when father and son took ownership together. Today, Amir continues the legacy, welcoming guests with heartfelt hospitality, traditional Persian cuisine, and a deep commitment to creating a place where everyone feels at home.
